Treasure Bottles and Bird Masks

This morning we made treasure bottles with the birdseed we played in yesterday! The first thing we did was put "treasures" in the empty bottles. We had beads, buttons, and little gems!

Then we put the birdseed in to hide the treasures!

Bye bye treasure!

Then we shook the bottles to see if we could find the treasures again!

Not every activity I plan appeals to every child...Mason lost interest once the messy part was done! He spent the majority of the time on the stairs with a basket on his head, goofball!

This afternoon we made bird masks!

We were such funny birds! Our friend Carson wanted absolutely nothing to do with wearing his mask, and that's ok. He sure thought Mason and Bryell were funny though!

Playgroup, Chickens, and Bird Seed

We were on the go today! We started off the morning by going to play with our friends at playgroup. We have lots of fun running around with all the people our size!

We have been doing bird related activities this week so, this afternoon, we went on a field trip to see birds...

Chickens!!

What does a chicken say?

Bock bock!

Since we were there, we decided we better visit the tractor too!

We came back to the house and filled the empty water table with birdseed! We played outside so that the spills would feed all our bird friends!

We were pretty excited when the big kids got here! We helped Avilee and Behlee "cook" with the seeds!

I have always enjoyed seeing how different age groups experience the same activity in different ways. The little kiddos love to shake the oil and water bottles and seeing the treasures hidden inside that disappear and come back. The older kids had a discussion about the properties of the oil and water and why that happens. Smart ladies!

Of course, everyone still loves to shake!

Avilee sure is a great reader!

Feathers and Glasses

We filled the sensory table with feathers today! They were so soft and fluffy!

We really loved to hold them high over our heads and watch them float gently down!

Uh oh boys! How are you going to play now??

Silly!

We made birds for our craft project! We brought feathers from the sensory table, and glued them on the birds. It was neat to see how the feathers would stick to our papers!

We also played with sunglasses today! We thought it was so funny to put them on ourselves and each other!

There were big giant goofy ones...

and little tiny small ones...

Ones that made us squeal!

and ones that looked sharp!

Ones that were mysterious...

and ones that wouldn't quite stay on...

This is one of Carson's favorite games...it makes us all laugh!

Where's Carson?

There he is!
