Mystery Box

Today we used our senses to find toys that were hidden inside a box with a small hole in the top. The toys all had different textures and we were excited each time a new one was secretly put inside for us to discover!

We used our eyes...

We used our hands...

We even used our ears!

You got it Bry!

Outside and Bubbles

Hooray for sunshine! We were able to spend a lot of the morning outside enjoying the beautiful weather.

We played with balls...

Splashed in the water table...

Ran in the grass...

and visited the dogs...

We also played with bubbles today!

We tried to catch them...

and pop them...

We danced in circles with the bubbles all around...

It was silly to feel the bubbles pop on our faces!

Lastly I had to get a picture of Carson taking care of this baby. He put her in the cradle, gave her his blankie, and then patted her head! What a great Daddy you'll be Carson!

Playgroup and Handprints

Wednesday morning means playgroup! We walked across the street to the church and saw lots of little people! We played with some of the toys we brought and also shared with others. One of the moms brought some toys out of the church nursery too!

After our nap, we painted pictures with our handprints! It was so funny to watch the paintbrush change the colors of our little palms!

We would press our hands on the paper and see our prints left behind!

We love to be messy! What a colorful girl you are, Bryell!

Puzzles and Shakers

We spent a lot of time this morning playing with puzzles and a latch board. We enjoyed taking the puzzles apart and doing our best to put them back together! It was also fun to talk about the pictures we saw and all the tricky openings on the latch board!

Yesterday we had sauch a fun time playing with the beans in the sensory table and listening to the sounds they made, so today we made noise makers with beans!

They were different shapes and sizes!

Can you shake it Carson?

Whoa! That is a big shake!

Shake shake shake Bry!

Sorting & Stacking and Beans

We filled the sensory table with a variety of beans today. It was lots of fun to stir them, fill and pour cups, sift, and of course throw them!

We really liked the sound that they made when they bounced on the hard floor!

It was funny to watch the beans "jump" when we would drop them!

We are all at an age where we really enjoy filling and pouring, sorting and stacking, so we have been doing a lot of activities with toys that address these skills.

The Valley is Alive with the Sound of Music!

Busy Bees Band put on quite a show this morning! We were wonderful little musicians! It was fun to play all of the instruments and we did a great job taking turns and sharing. What nice friends!

Carson loved the bells that he could wear around his wrist. Shake shake shake!

Bryell is a natural on the drums!

Mason and Carson had quite the duet!

For our art project, we made chalk pictures. It was a fun to feel the texture of the chalk in our hands and see our beautiful art!

Have a great weekend!

Apple Prints and Shredded Paper

We made apple prints for our craft project today. We were a little confused at first when we saw apples that weren't for a snack, but we got the idea pretty quickly! It was fun to use the apples to make pictures, and we liked looking at the apples before and after the paint was on the paper!

We played with shredded paper in the sensory table today. How much fun it was to stir and throw and crunch!

Bubbles!

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

We always have so much fun using our different senses to explore! Today we filled a sensory table with bubbles!

What does it feel like?

We can hear the crackles and popping when we smash them up!

Uh oh...They do not taste yummy!

What if we put this ball in the bubbles?

Look at the bubble tracks the ball makes!

Silly Boy!
